Hello, my quarantined angels! How’s everyone holding up? I’m going slightly stir-crazy, but honestly dealing with all of this much better than I thought I would be. Today I’ve been doing tons of cleaning, so my space feels a lot happier and healthier.

Here’s a look I basically lived in throughout the fall and winter. I really loved this sweater when I first tried it on at H&M, but I was a little hesitant to buy it because the color isn’t anything like what I usually wear. But my mom told me that it looked really nice on me (thanks, Mom!), so I decided to buy it, and I’m so happy I did. It turned out to be one of my favorites! It’s nice and soft, but not as warm as I expected it to be. Since it’s loosely knitted, the wind tends to blow through it. But you know what? I forgive her. We can’t do it all.

I almost always wear this sweater with my leggings, but switch up the shoes. Sometimes I wear boots, others my moccasins, but most of the time I wear my Converse. I’m always between black and white. Which do you like better?

A couple months back, my friend and I went to one of the coolest bars in New York, if not the world: Duff’s of Brooklyn! For non-heavy metal fans, this place is essentially a shrine to the bands I grew up listening to. Records and posters cover the walls, ceiling, and even the floor. Seriously, there’s no space that isn’t covered by some form of metal memorabilia. Even the bathrooms are cool! My personal favorites were the zombie sitting amongst the crowd, and the “Devil’s Ukulele,” signed by some of the greatest men in heavy metal. I was full of Corona and awe.

So what do you wear to a metal bar? I chose my Judas Priest tour shirt (and prayed that the friend I was meeting wouldn’t wear the same one), my trusty leggings, and a pair of heels (but my white Converse looked cute too). I wore my darker lipstick to fit ~the vibe~, and my blue light glasses once I realized how many neon signs there were.

If you’re a metal fan, I highly recommend checking Duff’s out. And if you’re not, go anyway! Just don’t get scared of the zombie I made out with.

thinking pink

my grandma’s nursing home has an incredible selfie mirror ;)

Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we? When I was about twelve years old, I was obsessed with the color pink. OBSESSED. I honestly can’t even tell you why. All I know is that I decked everything out in pink, pink, pink. I even had a pink-themed birthday party (which was the bomb, by the way).

Unfortunately, I think I pink-ed myself out after my tweens, and started wearing darker, more muted tones as I got older. No regrets there! Don’t get me wrong; I love a good pop of color. But head-to-toe pink just took it a bit too far (see photo for reference.)

i still love a good cross-body bag.

So I really surprised myself when I fell in love with this pink sweater last Black Friday. It’s super feminine and simple, and amazingly comfy. I usually wear it with leggings, but it also looks adorable with the black joggers that I’ve been obsessing over lately. I throw on my denim jacket and a cute matching scrunchie, and there we go! Twelve-year-old Kristen would be proud (and shocked at the lack of bangs).

Happy November, everyone! This is one of my favorite months of the year: my birthday is on the 14th and Thanksgiving is coming up. Fall is my absolute favorite. I love taking in the seasonal shifts and inhaling pumpkin pie :)

In true twenty-one-year-old-child fashion, I dragged my mom to the petting zoo at our local nursery! Going to petting zoos was one of my favorite fall activities as a kid. I would freak out over all the animals and insist that my parents keep giving me quarters so I could feed the goats and pigs.

On this occasion, I provided my own quarters and had some touching encounters with a couple of sheep. A little boy and I made friends with an adorable pig who loved to be pet, and my mom was very surprised at how much goats love to climb. This is also when I informed her that goat yoga existed, and we had a discussion about the variety of tasks that goats can perform.

After marveling at the assortment of beautiful birds, I resisted my urges to go down the Spooky Slide and went home with my mom. Little fall things like this make me so happy!

How are you embracing the season? Let me know in the comments!

Hi, I’m Kristen, and I wear old shoes for way longer than is appropriate. Then, when I buy new shoes, I still wear the old ones because I don’t wanna get the new ones dirty. This is the life of a perfectionist.

I put together this commemorative photoshoot for a couple reasons:

  1. I couldn’t believe how white my Converse are actually supposed to be. They’re blindingly white. I love it.

  2. To document that I have a problem. Okay? I said it. Never again.

  3. I couldn’t believe that shoes could actually look this disgusting and had to share it with you all.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming. Keep your shoes clean and buy new ones when you need! Rhyme time is over now love you!
