The Clunkster

Boring Day

One of my favorite moments in life is when I look in the mirror and I'm completely happy with how I look. Obviously, looking great isn't all that makes me happy, but it definitely does contribute to my joy. As I've mentioned before, fashion and makeup are how I express how I'm feeling inside. It works both ways. If I'm not feeling too great, I'll purposely dress in ways that make me feel great. My mother told me that when my grandma was dying of breast cancer, until her final days, she would always get out of bed and get dressed, do her hair, and do her makeup. How kickass is that?! Every now and then it's great to be lazy, but sometimes putting on real clothes is just what I need.

Today, for example, I was down and sweaty (I went to the gym for the first time in forever!). I walked into my closet, pulled some stuff out, put it on, and felt happy. Oh, the magic of clothes.

I decided to wear this Fall Out Boy sweatshirt since it was Pete Wentz's birthday yesterday and he is one of the sexiest men I've ever laid eyes on (as well as being a very talented bassist), so why not celebrate?! I actually love this sweatshirt a lot. It's super comfortable and I love the pattern in the words. Some people aren't a fan of long sleeves and shorts, but I actually really love the way it looks. Usually, I wear this sweatshirt with dark blue jeans and a bandana, but it was hot today and my hair was frizzy so I went with shorts and ditched the bandana. Then, I took the extra step and tucked my shirt into my pants because why not? I liked the way it looked! Originally, I went with black Converse, but I switched to white. I like the way white Converse look with these shorts because they're so light.

Then, I did my makeup. I kept everything light (even my eyelashes!) except for my lips. I don't know why, but I was feeling a little bit of pink gloss, and I liked the way it turned out! I haven't worn this gloss in forever. I really should wear it more often.

I also kept jewelry simple, with a brighter Pura Vida bracelet that you can't see in the photo since I'm wearing long sleeves. I also ditched the usual necklace as well!

I guess I don't have a whole lot to say about this look, other than that I'm happy wearing this. Stay tuned for what tomorrow brings!
