A couple months back, my friend and I went to one of the coolest bars in New York, if not the world: Duff’s of Brooklyn! For non-heavy metal fans, this place is essentially a shrine to the bands I grew up listening to. Records and posters cover the walls, ceiling, and even the floor. Seriously, there’s no space that isn’t covered by some form of metal memorabilia. Even the bathrooms are cool! My personal favorites were the zombie sitting amongst the crowd, and the “Devil’s Ukulele,” signed by some of the greatest men in heavy metal. I was full of Corona and awe.

So what do you wear to a metal bar? I chose my Judas Priest tour shirt (and prayed that the friend I was meeting wouldn’t wear the same one), my trusty leggings, and a pair of heels (but my white Converse looked cute too). I wore my darker lipstick to fit ~the vibe~, and my blue light glasses once I realized how many neon signs there were.

If you’re a metal fan, I highly recommend checking Duff’s out. And if you’re not, go anyway! Just don’t get scared of the zombie I made out with.

thinking pink

my grandma’s nursing home has an incredible selfie mirror ;)

Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we? When I was about twelve years old, I was obsessed with the color pink. OBSESSED. I honestly can’t even tell you why. All I know is that I decked everything out in pink, pink, pink. I even had a pink-themed birthday party (which was the bomb, by the way).

Unfortunately, I think I pink-ed myself out after my tweens, and started wearing darker, more muted tones as I got older. No regrets there! Don’t get me wrong; I love a good pop of color. But head-to-toe pink just took it a bit too far (see photo for reference.)

i still love a good cross-body bag.

So I really surprised myself when I fell in love with this pink sweater last Black Friday. It’s super feminine and simple, and amazingly comfy. I usually wear it with leggings, but it also looks adorable with the black joggers that I’ve been obsessing over lately. I throw on my denim jacket and a cute matching scrunchie, and there we go! Twelve-year-old Kristen would be proud (and shocked at the lack of bangs).

Hey babes! I hope your weekend was fabulous. I got to spend mine with my mom! We went to the Institute of Contemporary Art, which I had surprisingly never been to in the four years that I’ve lived in Boston. It was so cool! They featured a piece by Ragnar Kjartansson called The Visitors, and it was hands down the most beautiful piece of art I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend checking it out if you can! I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Speaking of goosebumps, I wore this outfit back when it was still a little chilly. This sweater usually keeps me warm enough without a jacket, but it’s not super heavy, which is nice. I always wear it with my black bralette and leggings. Sometimes I’ll wear boots, but most of the time I’ll wear my sneakers or moccasins. I always feel so cute and cozy.

I threw it back to sophomore year Kristen and wore my hair half-up-half-down, but left the choker in 2017. I also sprayed on some Indi by Katy Perry because it makes me feel so warm inside.

Sometimes I miss dressing cozy like this, but then I see the sun shining and remember how much I love summer. Do you have any cool plans coming up? Let me know in the comments!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, loves! I hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend. I went to a couple parties and spent some time with some people I’m ~lucky~ to have in my life.

Speaking of things I’m grateful for, where would I be without my girl Halsey? If you haven’t already gathered from the amount I wear this sweatshirt, I’m a huge Halsey fan. She also happens to make amazing, comfy merchandise that I wear to death. I got some yucky stuff on this sweatshirt not too long ago, but I went to town with some stain remover and now she’s as good as new :’)

Another piece of clothing that I’m lucky to have is my fuzzy leggings, which I also post about way too much! I wore jeans for the first time in a while last week, and I was reminded of why I’m always in leggings. Jeans make me feel so restricted and uncomfortable, even if they do look cute! Now that the weather’s getting nicer, I’ll probably start transitioning into lighter leggings and my denim shorts. But these babies will always be a ride or die for me.

I topped off this look with my black Timbs, Killer Queen perfume, and Sunice Sunglasses. I’m so happy to be an ambassador for this awesome brand! If you’re planning on snagging these adorable sunnies, use my code CLUNKSTER25 for 25% off your order ;)

What pieces of clothing are you lucky to have? Let me know in the comments!

Hey cuties! I hope your February is going well so far. My sorority sisters and I watched the Super Bowl together last night, and we had so much fun! I truly don’t know what I’d do without them. They made the most boring game in the world so funny.

This olive button-down shirt is one of my favorites, but as I say so often, I don’t wear it enough! I think it’s because one time I underestimated how heavy the fabric was and wore it on a way too hot day. I showed up somewhere and didn’t realize until later that I had the biggest pit stains! Now I make sure to wear it when I know I’ll be in a non-sweaty environment, which is pretty unpredictable. I can’t believe I just typed that sentence. I should start wearing it more this winter.

I wore my fleece-lined leggings and tan Timberlands, which I’ve been living in lately. I did some light makeup and straightened my hair. These glasses are from Sunice Glasses, too! They’re called The Club, and I love them so much. They’re similar to a pair of sunglasses I used to have that broke, may they rest in peace. Check out all of the sunglasses on Sunice’s website, and be sure to use my code, CLUNKSTER25, for 25% off your order! Then DM me and tell me which ones you got!!!

This week, I challenge you to wear something you haven’t worn in a while. If it doesn’t spark joy, Marie Kondo it! Have a great day!
