NYX Lipgloss

Beauty, Beauty Review, Cruelty-FreeKristenComment

A little while ago, as I’ve mentioned before, I went on a CVS haul and bought a bunch of random things that I’ve never tried before. I’ve only ever heard good things about NYX’s matte lipglosses, so I decided to give one a try!

What I’m Using: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (in Cairo)

I absolutely fell in love with this lipgloss. The last time I tried a matte formula, it was an absolute disaster, mostly because of the application. This lipgloss goes on so smoothly, it’s actually fun to apply. I adore the color. It really pulls everything together.

As far as lasting power, I think this does an okay job. The actual color stays on beautifully, but it does get kinda chappy eventually. It’s not drying though, which is great.

I really want to go buy a boatload of stuff from NYX. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from them! I want to get more of these lipglosses in different colors.

Sorority Sunday

KristenComment

Shirt (exclusive to Xi Gamma Nu Emerson College). Leggings. Boots (no longer being sold by Call It Spring). Bralette.

It's Sorority Sunday! This one's a bit of an old one. I took this selfie at the beginning of the year, when my sorority held its very first Recruitment! It was so stressful, but so worth it and a ton of fun in the end. One thing that everyone obsessed over was our shirts. Usually, sororities at my school pick normal tees to wear for Recruitment, but we went with this cute light top that has our symbol, the compass! It was really interesting to see how all of our sisters wore it differently. Most of us wore them with different colored bralettes. In this photo, I wore my shirt off the shoulder, but sometimes I leave it normal.

This shirt called for dark pants and heels, definitely. Heels make me feel like a boss bitch, so they were perfect for this look. My hair was straight and my makeup was perfect because it was Recruitment, and my jewelry was normal. I wore my purple and blue Pura Vidas because they're my sorority's colors!

On a side note, if you're thinking about going Greek this semester, do it. It was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Go Clunk Yourself

Outfit of the Day, StyleKristenComment

Sweater (no longer being sold by Urban Heritage). Boots (no longer being sold at Primark). Skirt (different color).

Today's look is rather clunky. I got this black turtleneck for Christmas, which was great since I didn't have one and I was really missing one! As soon as I tried it on, I knew I needed to wear it with the denim skirt I talked about the other day. I really loved how flirty it looked! I wore stockings since it's cold as hell outside, and my Clunkster boots. I would've worn my new thigh-high boots, but they're heels, and I can't wear heels that much anymore because I have knee problems.

I had my hair in a high ponytail, which I love with turtlenecks, My jewelry was all normal, even though you can't see most of it. I wore my new lipgloss again, too. I promise a review on that is coming soon!

I have a feeling this look is going to become a staple of mine. Guess we'll find out soon!

Dark Side

Sweater (no longer being sold at dELiA*s). Leggings. Shoes (similar). Lipgloss. Sunglasses (similar).

I took a trip to the dark side today! I haven't done this in a while, and I felt like a total badass. I started with my super comfy leggings. Then, I wore my spiky sweater that I love but don't wear enough! To keep going with the black and badass-ness, I added these amazing black heels.

My hair is in a pony because it looked super yucky today, but I think it goes really well with the rest of the look. My makeup is normal (I wish my eyes were a bit darker), with the exception of my lipstick, which is a new color I'll be reviewing soon! My jewelry is also normal, and I added a choker.

Don't worry, the dark side will return soon, hehe.

Wardrobe Crush Wednesday

KristenComment

It's Wardrobe Crush Wednesday! Today, I wanted to ramble about how much I love my denim skirt.

I never really had a desire to get a denim skirt, but then the grunge-y 90s look came back, and I started wearing it more. I had tried a bunch of other denim skirts, but they looked super mom-y, which I wasn't a fan of. I wanted something cute and flirty. That's why this Brandy Melville skirt was PERFECT for me!

Shirt (no longer being sold at dELiA*s). Skirt (different color). StockingsSweater (no longer being sold at The Gap). Boots (no longer being sold at Primark).

ShirtSkirt (different color). Sneakers.

Top (similar). Skirt (different color). Sneakers.

It's super short, which I love. And the front all snaps up, which makes it easier to take on and off. I feel like I can wear basically anything with this skirt. I usually wear it with tucked in things, but I think soon I wanna try wearing baggy sweaters or something. I feel like this skirt has endless possibilities.

Skirt (different color). Tank top (basic, sold anywhere!). Sweater (no longer being sold at The Gap). SneakersSunglasses (similar).

BodysuitSkirt (different color). Heels (similar). Sunglasses (similar).

And I love it because I can basically wear any shoes too. I've worn it with black and white Converse, boots, and heels. I really want to experiment with this skirt more. How many looks can I create?
