Sorority Sunday!

KristenComment

It’s Sorority Sunday! Today’s look is actually something I wore a couple days ago, and something I’ll definitely be wearing a lot around this time because it’s RECRUITMENT SEASON! I’m so beyond happy for this part of Xi Gamma Nu’s growth. I’m so proud to wear my letters.

There isn’t a ton of explanation behind this look. It’s basically what we all decided to wear for certain events, but it looks super cute. I’ve worn something similar before, I’m sure.

Since I don’t have a lot to say, I figured I’d take this time to tell any of my lovely readers who are on the fence about rushing (not just mine, but any Greek organization) to just do it. I know it’s a huge commitment, but honestly, it’s so worth it. I can’t imagine my life without my sisters in it. If you’re looking for lifelong friends and a chance to help yourself grow, go Greek. You won’t regret it.

Short vs. Long

My name's Blurryface

Shirt (no longer being sold at dELiA*s). Shorts. Sandals (no longer being sold at Sam Edelman). Sunglasses (similar).

Today, I tried something different, and I really, really liked it. I don’t think I’ve ever done long sleeves and shorts before. I’m not exactly sure why I decided to do this, but I really love the way it turned out. As you can see, I wore my white long-sleeved shirt, which I tucked into my high-waisted black shorts.

The buttons on my shorts were gold, so I thought it would be cool to pair the look with my new favorite Sam Edelman gold sandals. I really loved the way this looked!

As for my hair and makeup, things were relatively normal. My makeup was normal, and I kept my hair slightly curly, which I liked. I also kept my jewelry usual. I really liked this look in general! I felt very comfortable and myself in this. I would definitely experiment with long sleeves and short shorts in the future.

Frat Boy Barbie

Tank (no longer being sold at Urban Outfitters). Bralette. Shorts. Sneakers. Hat. Socks.

Tonight, I look like a frat boy, which is one of my favorite things to look like. I went to a luau themed party, so I wanted to look beachy. Logically, I dressed as a frat boy on Spring Break.

My friend left his beachy Where’s Waldo shirt at my suite last night, so I decided to steal it! I did a tight tuck today, into my short as shit shorts. I should do tighter tucks more often. I also wore my bralette under my shirt. Originally, I had on sparkly flip-flops (like in my closet selfie), but I realized that in order to really finish off the frat boy look, I needed to wear white shoes with black socks. I wore my Send Help hat backwards, in true frat boy fashion.

I feel like I kind of am a frat boy in my soul. I actually really liked this outfit, except if I wore it again I would obviously wear white socks, and I would probably ditch the hat. I love when costumes turn into actual inspiration!

Choking Hazard

KristenComment

I wore a choker to my fashion history class yesterday, where we learned about different types of body mutilation for adornment. One was that some women in other countries stretch their necks with several gold rings. It looked absolutely terrifying, but in a way, I was inspired by it. I wondered what a bunch of chokers would look like. Today, I tested my theory.

Yesterday, I wore my black and white choker since my shoes were white. This time, I decided to add my plain black one on top. By the way, these are both still coming from the drawstrings of my pants,

so the strings still fall down my back, but it looks cool. At first, I kind of spread them out, leaving one under my chin and the other by my collarbone. Then, I moved them together. I can’t really figure out which I like better. One of my friends said I looked injured in the first, but clunk him.

Overall though, I thought this looked really cool and I would totally go with this look again. Maybe as I get more, I’ll try wearing three chokers! I’m so happy that chokers are back in. The nineties are back and I’m so excited.

I scratched between my chokers right before I took this photo oops

A Cute Lazy Look

KristenComment

Lately, I’ve been wearing this black dress a lot. It’s perfect in so many ways. It’s nice enough that I can wear out to an event, but it’s casual enough that I can just throw it on and leave my room, as exhibited in this selfie. As you all know, I care a lot about my appearance. I very occasionally go out in sweatpants. This dress is perfect for when I don’t wanna put a ton of effort into my appearance, but I still wanna look good.
How do I achieve this? There are a couple ways regarding this particular look. First, my wet hair. It seems lazy, but wet hair is becoming a statement. There’s been tons of wet hair on the runways lately, which I am loving. Next, my shoes, which I expressed my love for yesterday. Though they’re comfy, they’re gold, which takes the look to another level. I love fashion.

Last, but not least, lipstick, which I have also expressed my undying love for in the past. The lipstick honestly completes this look. In the photo, I’m wearing my bright pink lipstick, which I really like. It’s very flirty and girly, but it makes a statement. I have two other

lipsticks in the photo: red and dark brown (my vamp lip). The other night, I wore this exact outfit with red lipstick and my hair in a bun. It kept the look very classy and put together, but it was also cute. The dark lipstick is the more mature yet bold choice.

Everything else about my look is normal, like my jewelry. This is the perfect last-minute outfit for a busy girl like me!
