Daddy's Girl

Shirt. Jeans. Boots (no longer being sold at Primark). Sunglasses (similar). Flannel (no longer being sold at Eddie Bauer). Headband

Every now and then, I decide to dress up as my dad. It sounds kinda weird, but it’s pretty funny when you have a lot of his flannels and you walk outside wearing almost exactly the same thing as him. I think it makes a pretty cute outfit too!

This flannel is one of the most comfy that I haven’t worn in a while. I wore it open with a white T shirt underneath since I had to work later. I tucked it into my blue jeans like my dad wears, and wore my favorite boots that are just like his.

As usual, when I’m having a bad hair day, I put on my trusty headband. For some reason, my crazy hair just looks a bit better with it. I kept my makeup simple, as well as jewelry.

I really liked this look not only because I look like my dad, but it’s really just super cute and comfortable. It’s totally me too: high waisted jeans, something tucked in, and long outerwear.

When in doubt, dress as a parent.

I need to clean my mirror again oops

Dress (no longer being sold at dELiA*s). Shoes (similar). Tights. Sweater (no longer being sold at The Gap). Sunglasses (mine are a bit lighter).

Everyone has outfits they wear to special things. We basically have go-tos for certain events and activities. Unfortunately, I had to go to a wake today, so I wore my funeral outfit.

The way I see it, what a person wears to a wake or funeral is actually really important. I personally think it’s really insensitive to show up in something like jeans and a T shirt (jeans with a nice shirt is a different story). I’m an advocate for dressing the part, so I feel like if you’re gonna honor someone’s life, especially in front of their family and friends, it’s only appropriate to put effort into what you’re wearing.

I think this dress is perfect because it’s not too overwhelming. It has an appropriate neckline, quarter sleeves, and it’s not terribly short. This is actually one of my favorite dresses because it makes my body look good and it’s so comfortable! I wore this dress with black tights to go with the black stripes (even though it still looks good with tan tights) and these heels that I’m absolutely in love with. I put on my gray sweater so my dress didn’t look as short (I love when my outerwear is longer than my skirt/dress/shorts) and just in case it got cold. I also didn’t feel like bringing a bag to be honest, and this sweater has pockets.

My hair isn’t super straight, but it’s not terribly frizzy either. I ran over it with a straightener so it looked more ~effortless~ and less like I stuck my finger in an electrical socket. I also kept my makeup simple, as well as my jewelry. My dad is trying to talk me into finally buying a watch. Meh.

Overall, though the circumstances surrounding this look were unfortunate, it’s definitely one of my favorites to wear to parties and during the day, not just to funerals. In the meantime, remember to appreciate who you have and to always live life to the fullest.

Happy Fourth of July!

Shirt (no longer being sold at dELiA*s). Bralette. Shoes (no longer being sold at Payless). Pants (in a different color). Sunglasses (no clue I’m sorry). Bandana.

Happy Fourth of July, y’all! Even though I’m not super proud to be an American right now, I am pretty proud of today’s look. How could I not have dressed in red, white, and blue? I started with my bright blue skinny jeans that I just bought. Then, I added a white crop top. At first, I decided on a plain white T shirt, but since it was kinda hot and I was wearing pants, I went with a crop top and my new bralette. Since the crop top splits open in the back, the bralette looked awesome.

Now, for the red. I knew I was going to wear a bandana because how could you not wear one on the Fourth of July? I was all set to throw on my red Converse when I realized that the pedicure I got yesterday perfectly matched my jeans. I went with my silver sandals, which I matched my sparkly silver sunglasses to.

I kept jewelry simple as well as my makeup. I wasn’t a huge fan of my hair though. It looked weird with the bandana when it was down, but I hated how crinkly it was in the ponytail, which I decided on anyway since it was hot and so you could see my bralette.

Either way, I was happy I kinda supported my country in a way. Happy Independence Day!

I went to Coney Island today, which is one of the coolest places ever! Fun fact, I actually got ready in like twenty minutes (usually it takes me like an hour or so). I have no clue how. My mom and I had a mani-pedi appointment at ten, but I did NOT feel like waking up. I got ready at like lightning speed. I don’t even know how I had time to do my makeup!

Today, I probably dressed in the most hipster way I ever have. I bought this shirt at Macy’s the other day and I think it’s super cute. I love Disney! How could you go wrong with The Lion King? It’s one of my favorites. I really like how it’s kind of a crop top but kind of not. I guess it all depends on which bottoms you wear.

For today, I chose my usual high waisted shorts that are always shoved up my ass and falling apart. I still looked cute though! I wore black Converse since we would be doing lots of walking and my usual jewelry. I also kept my makeup relatively normal, and left my hair super messy as true hipsters do. Also in hipster fashion, I wore my rounded sunglasses.

The icing on the cake was the fact that I carried around my camera bag so I could take pretty pictures (which I did because Coney Island is a pretty place). I had my big ass camera around my neck the whole time.I would totally wear this look again. I feel confident, cute, and comfortable!

Once again, there's not much to say about this one! If you can go to Coney Island, go. It’s fun as hell, as long as you can find a parking spot.

Business in the front...

There was no non-awkward way to take this photo

Shirt (no longer being sold at Victoria’s Secret PINK). Leggings (similar). Sneakers. Bralette.

Today’s look was super comfy.  I wore this top that I absolutely love, but haven’t worn in forever since it hasn’t been nice enough. From the front, it looks like a normal T-shirt, but from the back, it’s anything but normal. It’s like a mullet shirt! Usually, I wear a bandeau or colorful bra, but today I decided to try out this bralette that I bought yesterday, and I LOVED it.

I went with leggings because who doesn’t like to be comfy? Originally, I put on gray Toms, but when I looked in the mirror later I realized that it would look better with black Converse. For some reason, my Converse looked much better with my messy hair. My jewelry was normal, as well as my makeup. When I had my Toms on, I made my mascara very light because I wanted to look natural, but when I put my Converse on, I wanted my eyelashes to be super dark. If you couldn’t tell, I have very weird reasons for doing things.
