The Clunkster

Flannel Friday

Flannel (no longer being sold at Eddie Bauer). Boots (no longer being sold at Primark). Stockings.

I always say that flannels are perfect for everything, especially lazy days. Well, I've taken it to the next level! One day, I woke up and didn't feel like wearing pants, as per usual. Since I had been dressing like a trash bag for the couple days before, I knew that I had to look at least a little cute to reassure everyone in my life that I was at least making an attempt. Midterms, am I right?

Thus, the flannel dress was born. Thankfully, my dad is so tall that his shirts fit me like dresses! I simply buttoned up the front and I was ready to go. I wore my Cheer Spanx underneath as well as an Under Armour shirt, which kept me warmer and made me feel less like I was wearing a shirt with no pants (even though I technically was).

I really, really love this look, and I've worn it a lot more times since the first. I think it's the perfect balance of casual and cute, and it's soooooo comfy. I'm not wearing makeup in the photo, but my hair is in this cute little French braid-y thing that I do when my hair gets super gross. My coworker tells me that it makes me look like a "Bavarian Princess." I'll take it!

What I love about fashion is that it’s super diverse. A while ago, I posted a look with this shirt. It’s one of my favorite shirts, mainly because it makes me feel super sexy and confident. However, I can also wear this shirt in a cute way, like I did here!

This is a cute girl-next-door look that I really enjoyed wearing. I wore these jeans that do also make me feel sexy, but this wasn’t super over the top, which I really liked. I wore my moccasins, since moccasins are the most comfy things in the entire world, and I had a scrunchie on my wrist for reasons I don’t remember. My hair was straight and normal, and I didn’t wear any makeup. Either way, I felt adorable.

I'm Wearing Pants?

Sweater (no clue I'm sorry). Jeans. Boots (no longer being sold at Primark).

We’ve got a simple look for today! I'm absolutely in love with this turtleneck! I'm disappointed that I haven't worn it a ton this winter. I chose to pair it with a simple pair of jeans. I know, I’M wearing jeans?! It's definitely weird, but I'm getting used to them. They're perfect for the cold weather that' occurs in Boston. I'm also wearing my long-sleeved Under Armour underneath my turtleneck and a pair of stockings under my jeans for maximum warmth. I threw on my typical Clunkster boots as well.

Makeup is relatively normal today, except I have weird red rings at the bottoms of my eyebrows because I did a hardcore tweezing this morning. I'm also very happy with the way my blush came out since it's been a bit wonky lately.

I put my hair in an excessively high pony since I do that when my hair looks gross, and because I absolutely love the way ponytails look with turtlenecks for some reason. Maybe it's one of my levels things, I don't know.

Anyway, I love this look, and I hope you'll be seeing more of this turtleneck in the future!

More Cruelty-Free Lipgloss!

Once upon a time, a clunky girl lent her favorite lipstick to her roommate. She never saw that lipstick again. To be honest, I'm not bitter. She looked bomb in it, and I needed a change anyway!

What I Was Using: New York Color Ultra Moist Lip Wear (in Mahogany)

What I'm Using Now: NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick (in Vintage)

My old lipstick was not cruelty-free, so this time I decided to try NYX again, since I really  loved their nude lipgloss that I reviewed the other day.

I'm literally in love with this gloss. I absolutely love the color, and it goes on so well. It's fun putting it on! It may be weird to say, but NYX products have a certain taste to them that I love. Anyway, it lasted super long. I put this on and went out to dinner and it stayed on beautifully even hours after.

Also, I loved that this gloss was matte. My other lipstick was not, and I think it totally needed to be since this color is so badass.

As usual, I absolutely love NYX. I just signed up for their rewards club, so you'll be seeing a lot more of them on The Clunkster!

Throwback Thursday! I wore this outfit the day after Election Day. To be honest, I’m pretty pissed about how things worked out. However, in true Clunkster fashion, I continued to be inappropriately optimistic and carry on with my life! So, I decided I wanted to wear blue.

I haven’t worn this dress in forever, but I love it so much! I wore my black long-sleeved shirt under, which I think looks adorable. I also wore my stockings, and my Clunkster boots.

My makeup was normal, and I actually did an okay job on my blush! I put my hair in a super duper high ponytail, which I haven’t worn in forever. My jewelry was normal as well.

I’m happy I actually got dressed!
